A UN report found a notable drop in food and fuel imports through the ports of Hodeidah in western Yemen, which are under Houthi control.

The UN Food Security Briefing for November 2025 explains that damage to the ports of Hodeidah, Saleef and Ras Issa led to a decrease in food imports by 22% and a decrease in fuel imports by 27% during the period January to October 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.

Hodeidah’s ports have been subject to intense Israeli air raids since last year, causing damage to their infrastructure.

In contrast, food imports passing through ports under the administration of the internationally recognized government increased by 51% during the same period, while fuel imports recorded a 32% decline.
